Traditional sailing ship the Averechts***

Welcome on board !
The Averechts is justly called the luxurious hotel among the traditional sailing ships. This ship (type: klipper) is originally built in 1892, and in 1995 totally rebuilt into an atmospheric and comfortable charter ship for sail loving guests.
This 37 meter long 2-mast ship offers sleeping place for 30 people and is suitable for day tours up to 50 people. Inside there is a comfortable common area to relax, have meals together, presentations, games etc. It is also very nice to be outside on deck or in the sociable sit compartment.

Where we sail........
From our very nice capital city Amsterdam, the Averechts sails over the IJsselmeer and Waddenzee. Together we decide the route.
Would you like to sail on a sandbank to let it fall dry and watch seals, or go to one of our islands, or to the nice villages around the IJsselmeer with their bars, restaurants and museums? Or would you like to anchor in the midst of the IJsselmeer to have a nice swim, or to party till late at night with loud music while bordering nobody? It is all possible!
Nice towns/villages/islands to visit are: Amsterdam, Volendam, the fort Pampus, The castle Muiden, Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Medemblik, Den Oever, Texel, Terschelling, Harlingen, Makkum, Stavoren, Lemmer, Urk, Lelystad, etc.

Optimal freedom!
All possibilities with our ship Averechts are tailor-made: you decide yourself your time-table and activities.
The ship is very suitable for having meals together, to have a barbeque or a drink and party. You can cook yourself if you like.
It is also possible that we take care of an excellent catering for you. Please ask us about the possibilities.

Holidays or teambuilding?
On the Averechts, you can sail for, weekend, midweek, week or two-weeks till up to 30 people.
Day tours are possible till 50 people!
Our sailing trips are very suitable to relax, and also for business meetings and to get to know each other in a different setting. We can organize special team-building activities or survival activities for you!

Catering
Would you like to go sailing entirely untroubled? We can take care of an excellent catering for you (not obliged)! Coffee with pie on arrival, a lunch buffet with soup, luxurious bread, salads, fresh fruit etc, delicious snacks, appetizer, superb barbeque…. you name it! Please consult our catering list for the possibilities. Do you have special wishes? No problem at all, if we can do it we will!

The captain: Tom Schaefers
Tom is sailing ever since his youth. First with scouting, later in all holidays. As a sailor he drove to East-Germany, Belgium and France. In 2002/2003 he sailed during one year to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands and Azores with his family. In 2006 Tom worked as a captain on traditional sailing ships on the IJsselmeer. Since Mai 2007, he is the proud owner and captain of his own traditional sailing ship the Averechts.

Hotelschip
In wintertime, when there are no sailing trips, the Averechts is docked in Amsterdam as a hotelship. Bed and breakfast is only € 35,- per person per night. Please ask for the possibilities.

End cleaning:
€ 100,- If you change the bed sheets yourself, and you hand the ship over to the captain sweep-clean, then you do not have to pay this (only by overnight tours).
